ASM Performance Group might be the right fit for your child.
We offer several hip hop classes at different levels including recreational and competitive. This summer our dance program will take place at all three Family Tree locations where your child can explore his/her creative side through dance.
ASM Performance Group- This summer we will be infusing poetry with hip hop dance. Children will dance to all kinds of hip hop music from the 80's to the present. Our classes are always age appropriate and your child will learn about different styles of hip hip from isolations, break dancing to popping and locking.
We are currently enrolling new dancers for our team. If your child would like to try out for level placement, please contact your center Director or send us an email at saamc02889@yahoo.com for more details and a registration packet.
Hip Hop classes are taught by Jared Rivers from Americas Best Dance Crew Mr Jared Rivers is formally trained in all styles of dance under the direction of Mrs. Angela Mendaz from Rising Stars Dance Academy. Jared has danced since the age of six and has competed in many competitions over the years. Jared has danced on a variety of stages and was invited to be part of the World Dance Team, Dance Team USA, Headliner National Dance Team and the Star Quest Dance Team. In addition Mr Jared has danced in opening numbers for Chris Brown's and Raquel Castro's tours and was a back up dancer for Christina Agulaira. In 2010, Mr Jared and his Dance Crew Draztik were on "Americas Best Dance Crew" representing the East Coast in a National Dance Competition produced by Randy Jackson.
In the Summer of 2010 Mr Jared joined the ASM group and has worked with students all competition season. He took our students to the National Dance Show Case where our team won High Point Over All Winner in the Hip Hop Category, received three High Golds, three Golds in Over all Award and we were invited to compete in the Turn It Up National Team this Summer in Cape Cod.
On May 5th our ASM Students along with Mr Jared will be performing at "So You Think You Can Dance New England" Dance Competition. Dancers will get to meet Mrs. Mary Murphy from SYTYCD and have a chance to compete for cash prises. Best of all, the money raised at the event will support the Women's Center of RI. Dance students are expected to be part of our Rhode Island community and perform at several local festivals and walk in the Gaspee Day Parade.
FAMILY TREE WILL PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE ASM DANCE COMPANY STUDIO IF YOUR CHILD IS ENROLLED AT FAMILY TREE.
